As we gear up for another great season, we have a few important updates and reminders to share:

⚾ 1. HEAD COACHES – Volunteers Needed!

We need to determine how many head coaches will be available in each age group this season.

If you would like to be considered for a head coach position, please email us ASAP with:
✅ Your Name
✅ Age Group you wish to coach
✅ Cell Phone Number

Important Notes:

• The Executive Board will review head coach needs during registration (based on sign-ups), approve the appropriate number of head coaches, and confirm with you as soon as possible.

• NEW: A recent Florida statute now requires Level 2 background checks (including fingerprints) for all coaches, team moms, umpires, etc. The league will cover this cost.

• NAYS coach certification will still be required and is the responsibility of each coach/team mom to complete.

• To manage costs, we will limit teams to no more than 4 total coaches/team moms per team this season.

👧 2. PLAYER DIVISIONS – New USSSA Age Requirements

Your player’s age as of 8/31/2025 will determine their age group this fall.

⬆️ Playing Up

Players may request to play up to the next division if:

• A majority of division coaches and the Division Director agree (after skills assessment) that the player is ready.

• If not approved to move up, the player must attend a second tryout session for their appropriate division before the draft.

Coaches' daughters may also be approved to play up when necessary.

👕 3. MERCHANDISE FUNDRAISER

We’re excited to offer CGS merchandise this season — shirts, hoodies, hats, visors — with profits helping cover rising league costs.

Look for merchandise to go on sale soon and throughout the season!

🗓 4. IMPORTANT DATES

• Registration Closes: Wednesday, August 6

• Coaches Clinic/Meeting: Thursday, August 7

• Player Assessments 6pm:

  • Monday 8/11 – 18U

  • Tuesday 8/12 – 12U

  • Thursday 8/14 – 10U

  • Friday 8/15 – 8U

• Practices Begin: Monday, August 18

• Opening Night: Friday, September 5

• Season Games Start: Monday, September 8
  Games will be scheduled primarily on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with Wednesdays/Fridays used as alternate days or rain makeups if needed.

• End-of-Season Tournament (Estimated): Begins November 3
