Article XX – All-Star Manager Selection Framework
Christina Girls Softball selects All-Star Managers and players through a transparent, performance-based process. The intent is to represent the league with coaches and players who demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, and dedication.
All peer and parent review responses are collected anonymously to ensure honest, unbiased feedback and maintain the integrity of the selection process.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply as an All-Star Manager, the candidate must:
Have served as a Team Manager or Assistant Coach in the Spring season
Be in good standing with the league
Have no game ejections or documented sportsmanship issues in the past 12 months
Meet all standard league requirements (Level 2 background check and NAYS certification)
Applications from ineligible individuals will not be considered.
All-Star Manager Application
Interested coaches must submit a completed application including:
Coaching philosophy
Tournament and All-Star experience
Availability for the summer season
Acknowledgment of the league’s selection process and conduct expectations
Scoring and Evaluation Process
Applicants are scored using the following weighted criteria:

Division Director Evaluation | 10 |

Peer Review (40 points):
Division coaches score the applicant (1–10 scale) in 4 categories:
Leadership & professionalism
Communication with families and umpires
Support of league mission
Game preparedness
Responses are averaged and the average of each area is scored..
Parent Review (30 points):
Parents of the Spring team anonymously score the coach (1–10 scale) in 3 areas:
Responses are averaged and the average of each area is scored..
Season Record (20 points):
Based on win percentage. First place = 20 points, second = 18, and so on.
Division Director Evaluation (10 points):
Based on application completeness, compliance, cooperation, and intangible contributions.
Final Manager Selection
Scores are tallied by a neutral panel (e.g., President, VP of Operations, Division Director, Secretary) Board members that are also applying for the manager position shall not be included in the neutral panel for their age division.
The top applicant is presented to the Board of Directors for final approval
All appointments require Board vote and are not subject to appeal
Assistant Coach Selection
Player Nomination and Selection Process
Team Nominations:
Each Spring Team Manager submits a list of 2 to 5 player nominees from their team for All-Star consideration.
Player Evaluation Session:
All nominated players attend a scheduled evaluation session, organized by the Division Director and approved Head Coach.
Final Team Selection:
The All-Star Manager, in coordination with their approved assistants, selects the team roster based on evaluation performance, position needs, and league balance.
